Event Details

Right in the middle of Fort Wayne is an urban farm that you may not even know exists. Located within two shipping containers, we're hydroponically growing 5 acres worth of leafy greens and herbs year-round.

But that's just the beginning of the story! The purpose of CASS Gardens is to train and employ adults with a variety of intellectual and developmental disabilities. These adults grow, maintain, and harvest all of the food being grown in our climate-controlled, safe environment.

We'd love for you to come and hear our story, see how our farms work, meet a few friendly faces, try samples of our produce, and leave with a bag or two (or more!) of our locally-grown greens.

This event is in collaboration with Northeast Indiana's Local Food Week 2021.

Pre-registration required

Please email or call Robert with party size and time of arrival at:

Visitors can park alongside the green and white shipping containers. That's where our 5 acres of farmland are!

CASS Gardens' Facebook Page

CASS Housing is a nonprofit organization that creates customized housing and support solutions for people with intellectual disabilities. Our organization seeks to address one question, “How can we begin to make a difference in key areas that people with disabilities and their families face?”

This is why CASS Gardens was created.

Only 25% of people with intellectual disabilities like autism and Down syndrome have a job in Indiana. Employment helps give meaning and direction for all people. The structure and routine of farming presents incredible opportunities for our Core Members (residents).

Using state-of-the-art hydroponic systems, we’re able to grow pesticide free produce year-round. While you’re getting some of the freshest leafy greens and herbs possible, you’re also changing lives by creating job opportunities for people with disabilities right here in Fort Wayne.
