Dirt Wain turns residential and commercial food scraps into nutrient rich dirt. We are committed to community-scale composting—which means finding solutions that meet various communities’ needs. This helps keep food scraps out of the landfill where they become methane gas—an accelerant contributing to climate breakdown. Composting reclaims nutrients and puts them back in circulation in the communities where food scraps are generated. We offer individual, business, and community subscriptions for food scrap pick up and drop off. We also offer food scrap services for events.
We are in the process of getting an industrial composting site up and running. We are also developing a city lot into a demonstration prairie and composting site, making the connections between personal food scrap composting, making healthy soil, and restoring Indiana landscapes.
