Since 1983, Community Harvest Food Bank has operated with the mission to alleviate hunger through the full use of donated food and other resources. In addition to partnerships with nearly 400 nonprofit organizations, the food bank offers several in-house programs that directly serve the community, including the Farm Wagon, a mobile pantry that travels to nine counties (Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells, Whitley)

Community Harvest works with and collaborates with local retailers, farms, and other community partners in order to meet the needs of kids, seniors, Veterans, and families experiencing hunger.

Last year, 10.9 pounds were distributed to nearly 91,500 people throughout the northeast Indiana region, and over one-third of all food distributed was fresh produce. We work with several local farm partners including Shared Harvest Farm and Kurtz Produce to grow fresh produce to provide to our community. And, as always, what we can’t give away right away, we are able to blanch, freeze, and store for a later distribution while retaining freshness.
