Poplar Village Gardens is a three acre permaculture food forest located in the Poplar Neighborhood of Fort Wayne. We do not sell our produce. Instead, our urban garden builds community in our neighborhood by giving healthy produce away to our neighbors and our neighborhood food bank at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Our Garden Director, Diana Hart is a Bronze level Advanced Master Gardener who has also completed Urban Agriculture Certificate. She manages the garden and mentors our garden staff and volunteers.

Poplar Village Garden follows organic growing practices to grow a variety of produce throughout the season including: Apples, Asparagus, Cabbage, Cantaloupes/Melons, Carrots, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Garlic, Greens (Collards, mustard, turnip, etc), Green beans, Herbs, Kale, Lettuces, Okra, Onions, Pears, Peas, Peppers (bell), Peppers (hot), Potatoes, Radishes, Raspberries, Rhubarb, Spinach, Strawberries, Summer Squash, Swiss chard, Tomatoes, Watermelon, and Zucchini.

In the Spring we offer plant starts for home gardeners in the Poplar Neighborhood.

Hours of Operation

Poplar Neighborhood residents can message our garden staff through our Facebook or Instagram pages with your name, address and phone number to be contacted about receiving free produce.
